Nintendo Switch 2 Upcoming Games Worth Waiting For

The Switch 2 lineup keeps filling up. Dates can move, so this is accurate as of Oct 16 2026.

Holiday 2026

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Switch 2, Nov 5). It’s a Switch 2 exclusive remake with full voice acting and a microphone-played ocarina, shown in the Sept 8 Zelda Direct.

Pikmin 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy (Switch 2, Nov 12). It’s an upgraded edition of the 2023 game.

Metaphor: ReFantazio (Switch 2, Nov 12). Atlus’ 2024 RPG comes to Switch 2.

Monster Hunter Wilds (Switch 2, Dec 4). Capcom’s hunting game arrives on Nintendo’s new hardware.

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam (Switch, Switch 2, Dec 10). It’s a dated release on both consoles.

Early 2027

Metroid Ravenous (Switch 2, Jan 28). It’s the first 2D Metroid since Dread, with an eat or be eaten tagline.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation (Switch 2 and others, Apr 8). The Switch 2 version needs at least 130 GB of storage.

Persona 4 Revival (Switch 2, May 20). It lands three months after the Feb 18 launch on other platforms.

Kirby and the World Beyond (Switch 2, spring 2027). It’s the next 3D Kirby, with no exact date yet.

Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves (Switch 2, 2027). Both are Switch 2 exclusives, with no month announced.

No date

The Duskbloods (Switch 2, TBA). FromSoftware’s Switch 2 exclusive was announced for 2026, and I couldn’t find a firm date.

A note for a computer from 2017

None of this runs on a computer from 2017. I’d need a Switch 2 for it, and my PC can’t run new PC games either. For now I’m sticking with older, lighter games.

Which one would make you buy a Switch 2?
